Dark & Dramatic Kitchen Remodel
The Challenge
Clients who regularly entertain had lived with a closed-off, functionally adequate kitchen that did nothing to reflect their elevated taste. The original cherry cabinetry and standard appliances felt disconnected from a home that had already been updated with a more refined aesthetic.
Our Approach
The design brief was bold from the first meeting: make it dramatic. Floor-to-ceiling dark walnut cabinetry reads as architecture rather than furniture. The stone island — fabricated in a single natural slab — became the centrepiece, finished with a honed surface and fitted with a bespoke vessel-style prep sink. Integrated professional appliances disappear behind cabinet panels; nothing interrupts the material story.
The Result
A kitchen that stops people the moment they walk in. The darkness anchors the space and gives the stone and brass accents room to breathe. Guests gravitate to the island and never leave.
